Third Coast Renegades Claim Third Place at Gulfport Mississippi Open, Adding to an Elite 2026 SFC Resume
HOUSTON, TX — June 2026 — The Third Coast Renegades, Houston's defending Gulf Division champions of the Sport Fishing Championship (SFC), added another chapter to their 2026 campaign with a third-place finish at the Gulfport Mississippi Open, a hard-fought result that underscores the team's consistency on the national circuit.
The Gulfport Open is one of the SFC’s most competitive Gulf Division stops, and one the Renegades know well, having won this event in 2025. A podium finish here in 2026 reaffirms the standard they set last season, when they posted four first-place finishes and claimed the Gulf Division title, earning a berth in the Zane Grey Championship Playoffs in Cabo San Lucas.
Aboard their 60' Spencer Sportfisher, Magnifico, captained by Drake Sawyer and anchored on the water by team owner and lead angler Garrett Frazier, the Renegades competed with the precision and poise that has defined their program. The team's performance throughout the event reflected the depth and discipline that comes from competing at the highest level of professional offshore fishing.
“Third place doesn’t satisfy us, but it tells you something about this league. The competition is elite, and we’re right in the middle of it every single event. We’ll keep pushing.”
— Garrett Frazier, Owner, Third Coast Renegades
A Texas Program Built for the Long Game
The SFC is the fastest-growing offshore fishing league in the world, featuring 13 angling clubs competing across seven Atlantic and six Gulf Division tournaments, plus shared events, all building toward the Zane Grey Championship Playoffs in Cabo San Lucas each October. The Renegades earned their Playoff berth in 2025 as Gulf Division Champions.
The Third Coast Renegades are one of only two teams in the SFC club representing the Texas Gulf Coast, giving the program a distinct identity in a nationally televised league that broadcasts on ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney Channel, while streaming across major sports platforms.
The team is owned by a Houston-anchored group of four operating partners:
Garrett Frazier, entrepreneur and CEO of Anetik, leads the team’s on-water competitive program;
Terrence C. Murphy Sr., former Texas A&M wide receiver, NFL draft pick, and CEO of Texas-based Terrence Murphy Companies, with operating roles spanning real estate, venture capital, and professional sports;
Warren E. Fisher, CFA, founder of FinTech-focused asset management firm Manole Capital;
Rob McGowan, president and CEO of R3, a cloud-first managed IT firm and an Inc. 5000 honoree.
The team’s audience skews high-net-worth, lifestyle-driven, and nationally distributed across SFC’s broadcast, streaming, and social footprint. The Renegades are currently selecting a single founding partner, one Texas-based, non-endemic brand, for the 2026 season and beyond.
